Solar and wind energy coming to NYC

Hi, I just came across an article that seems interesting.  It is about saving the environment using solar and wind energy. It seems interesting, but how much does it cost, and does it actually help the environment. I believe for solar energy you must buy solar panels and your electric is going to lower.  In NYC, more and more homes are purchasing it. I feel fewer fossil fuels and oils would be used. For my blog I found an article from greenbiz.com. The article discusses about Googles latest innovation about global clean energy. As the company grows it uses more energy. They are developing a carbon-free energy using solar power and building solar farms. They are expanding in Asia and Taiwan is manufacturing them. Right now, the solar farm is in Hollywood, Alabama, and in Yum Yum, Tennessee. The solar panels are bringing in 413 MW of power, from 1.6 million panels.
